Pillow TALK

Pillows can add personality to any bed, couch or chair! They’re a great way to change the look of a room on a budget! However, there is more to it than just throwing some pretty pillows together. They have the ability to tie a room together and there are some rules to consider!

For a couch, start with 22” pillows or 24” for larger sectionals. (A great way to save $ is to buy more

Arrange like a pro! Start with largest pillow to smallest. Odd numbers are always most visually

appealing. Add a round or lumbar pillow to create depth and interest

Play with colors! Choose colors that will highlight artwork or a rug so that it doesn’t stand out on its own. You want it to complement the room and create a cohesive color scheme throughout

Mix and match colors and patterns (sometimes)! Once you found a color you want to use, find others that are in the same color family or contrast each other well when paired together. When using different textures you want to pair in the same hue. For instance, using fur, linen and wool in different hues of blue would NOT be as visually appealing. When using same textures it’s fun to play with different styles & prints

Now the real debate! To chop or not to chop? 😜 Either way, decorating with pillows is a versatile way to decorate a home. It adds color, style and visual interest and can make or break a room! Find more examples in our stories today
